I was out with my puppy in the park yesterday and another owner I was chatting with was sharing some great places to take your dog to in the winter. How to avoid muddy
paws dogs, which places have the most light… And as she was saying this, I noticed the sun setting and the air getting cooler, and it was only around 8pm!
It was just another reminder about how soon summer will be drawing to a close, and how much we need to make the most of it! My patio? It will soon be far too cold to sit out there, so I need to take advantage of it now! To inspire you to make use of your own outdoor space (however limited!) here’s a round up of my favourite balconies and patios.
1. An urban, string light filled oasis:
I’ve always adored strings of lights like these (I believe these ones are from Target, if I’m not mistaken!). They set a cosy and warm mood, perfect for cooler late summer nights.
2. This small and eclectic space:
I think this is a great example of how far you can stretch seating in a small balcony, and add so much style and personality. It’s probably just a builder basic patio in a modern style high rise, but you would never know. Plus, who wouldn’t want to enjoy the view out here?
3. A serene and green little balcony
I love the simplicity of this balcony. It really doesn’t need much in terms of accessories; the gorgeous greenery around it is enough in itself! The blue table and chairs with hits of pink make it inviting without interrupting the surroundings.
4. This beautiful and colourful patio
This one is my current favourite. So many awesome elements to take in… The pillows are fun and have an eclectic collected around the world look to them, but they’re not overbearing thanks to the restful natural tones of the bench and coffee table. The vaulted ceiling makes it airy, but the low slung lamp makes it feel cosy at the same time. You could easily change the whole vibe of this room simply by switching out a few pillows and accessories too. Wouldn’t you just want to lounge around here with some friends and sangria?
I hope you’re enjoying your last week of August! Check back later in the week for some updates on our bedroom’s Style Cure and (possibly? eventually?) the reveal!
