We lived in this one bedroom ground floor apartment for two years. It worked well for us for a while, but after about a year, its potential started to plateau…. There’s only so much you can do with so little light and such a big dog stuffed into a 600 square foot space!
Nonetheless, I still love a lot of the projects from this home. Here’s a look at the changes we since moving in at the beginning of April 2013.
When entering our little home, you’re met with a short hallway and closet. Here is a quick photo before move-in day:
On your left, you hit our bathroom:
On the other side of the hall, you enter the kitchen:
Pretty plain. And small! Here’s how it looks now that we’ve added a cart, installed open shelving, painted an accent wall, swapped out the hardware, made our own place mats, rolled out a rug, added a bookcase and threw in extra baskets with chalkboard labels for storage:
Through the kitchen, you hit our main living area.
And finally, I’ve tackled our bedroom! Here’s a shot of our bedroom before we moved in.
And an official “before”, the only bit of personalization being our headboard…
I’ve seen bought new nightstands, hung some of my own photos, added upholstery nails to the headboard, bought a new bedspread, painted an accent wall, replaced the dresser knobs, refreshed a mirror and reupholstered our bistro chair.
I gave our patio a cheap facelift last summer too. Here’s the before…
Hope you enjoyed my quick home tour! Doesn’t take long to glance through photos of 625 sq ft of space. Be sure to check back as I’ll make sure to update it as our home continues taking shape!
